Event Notes
Stand- The main footprint of the stand and walls were 3 years old stand had been adapted tweaked year on year.
- 144 Sqm footprint stand with 4 meeting rooms and 1 large storeroom that has either been split to accommodate a cloakroom or has remained as one large storeroom.
- Each meeting room in the past 2 years has had video conferencing facilities for remote dial in.
- 2021 and 2022, the stand comprised of a 40mm high wooden platform, with laminate flooring and metal edging with a metal frame at one end. But because of the expected cost to ship and drayage costs due to weight it was decided to not use a these elements this year and instead opt for carpet with underlay instead.
- The majority of the furniture (meeting room chairs, lounge chairs /sofas and coffee tables) have been re-used year on year for the past 3 shows.
- Each meeting room used acoustic padding made from recycled materials.
- New reception and service counters were made for this year to reduce space and weight.
- All AV, truss and lighting was hired and installed locally.
- Food and beverage was sourced locally.
- All furniture was donated at the end of the show to reduce the need to put to waste.
- The glass was donated to an exhibition contractor to reduce the need to put to waste.
- Where possible wood laminate blocks/ planks was changed and ethically.
- Flowers were all hired and recycled back to florist along with all pots.
Transport – Shipping
- The stand was shipped in 2 x 40ft containers from Wembley to Liverpool buy artic. The containers were then shipped from Liverpool docks to Montreal, Canada and then by rail to Toronto.
Disposal
The initial plan had been to ship the stand back to the UK after the show, but it was decided to dispose of the stand in Canada after the show instead.
Venue -
The MTCC note on their website that they are powered by green power solutions and not fossil.
